1 1/2 lb Firm,ripe,very small peaches
1 c Water
3/4 c Light brn. sugar,packed
1/2 c Dark rum or brandy
3/4 c Granulated sugar

Instructions

Scald peaches and remove skins. In skillet large enough to hold peaches in one layer, bring to a boil the sugars and water, stirring. Add peaches, cover, and simmer gently for abt. 4 min. Turn fruit over, re-cover the skillet, and poach peaches for abt. 4 min. longer, or until they are barely tender. Pour rum or brandy into clean 1 qt. canning jar with 2 pc. screw-on lid. Spoon in the peaches gently, packing very tightly without squashing them. Boil remaining syrup to thichen it slightly, but dont let it carmelize. Pour the syrup slowly over the fruit, leaving 1/2" headroom. Slip thin knife carefully around the inside walls of jar to release any air bubbles. Cover and seal jar and place in boiling water bath to cover by 2" and process for 10 min. Remove from boiling water and set on rack or towel to cool. Store in dark place for at least 1 month-preferably longer-before serving. Yield: 1 qt. approx. 6 servings From Geminis MASSIVE MealMaster collection at www.synapse.com/~gemini

We are only one more work day away from the weekend. It is going to be so nice to be able to have 3 days off in a row. Its going to be a little bit of work this weekend but it should all be fun stuff since we will not be working on the living room floor. We might be moving some stuff around but it should be a nice break from having to be on my hands and knee's working on taking flooring out or putting it down.

It will just be putting stuff away and that should not take more than about an hour.

HAPPY WEEKEND!!!

Bedroom Set PDF Print Email

This trip is going to cut into our plans of getting new Bedroom Furniture we had wanted to get a Modern Bedroom set so we could have a new mattress and get some pieces that all match. You know a really nice set of furniture as well as all the trimmings new sheets, mattress covers the works. But it looks like we are going to have to wait in order to make over our bedroom. I wonder if our styles will change and we will end up getting more of a Contemporary Bedroom set. The last bed we got was from Ikea and we don’t really like it much. We had to end up putting a memory foam mattress on the frame that we got and my fiancée is always complaining that she is not comfortable and soar when she wakes up.

So I guess we will just have to save our pennies and dimes and get that nest egg up so we can get a new set of furniture that she likes as well as a new mattress so she can be comfortable.
